TOUCH PAD

Is there a way to disable the touch pad? I found no way in the 'menus'.

My S63 has touch pad or input settings under the vehicle settings menu. It's there, they just bury it.

Thanks. I looked once but I'll look once more or twice again. Mine is just a S550 Coupe.

I've an older '15 S550 coupe and it does not have control of the touchpad in the Systems menu. I went to the dealer today and they determined that, indeed the '15 coupe does not have control over the touchpad but the sedan does. I watched them control the touchpad in a '15 sedan.

They told me there is no software update for it but could disable it with their computer but i would not be able to turn it back on without their computer.

Not a big deal. It's just an irritant that I mostly use the rotary controller and accidently touch the touchpad at times when doing so, and that makes for 'mistakes'.

Only other 'fault' I've found with this car is the doors won't stay open on a slpped driveway and it would not hurt for it to have had a 23-24 gallon fuel tank for traveling.

Agreed on the doors; mine has a 24 gallon tank and it just came that way (was not an option). Might have been added a bit later.

Odd, bummer. You wonder who makes these design decisions.

Lucky you with the larger fuel tank. I previously had a ‘14 CL550 that I had no problem putting 23 gallons in and could several times travel the interstates for over 520 miles a tank.

Now I’ve a ‘15 S550 coupe with a 21.1 gal tank that makes me squirm just going 485 miles with the Low Fuel light blaring at me. Just venting here. No idea what
I’d do with AMG S550 with a 21.1 tank. Stop more often I guess. Hate stopping too much for fuel but the bright side is getting back on the interstate and ‘merging’ with vigor.

For the coupe and SUV, we keep NATO fuel cans at home, which negate any mid-week stops for fuel. We fill them all on the weekend (we use fuel without ethanol). Not ideal but it works.

If you are considering an AMG upgrade for your coupe, the MY20 S63 has a few fuel saving gadgets when you are stuck in heavy traffic (almost every afternoon for me) and can't go mores than 5-30 MPH anyway. That should take care of needing to fuel more than once a week.
