Exclamation New SL will replace S cabriolet, but new S coupe will come?

Interesting article: https://mercedesblog.com/the-next-20...eloped-by-amg/
Most is already known, but that the S Coupe and AMG GT Coupe will be renewed and the S cabriolet and AMG GT Roadster not, might be of interest to some of you.

Still enjoying my S cabriolet every day!

I'm reading that as the C217 might be continued for another year, while the A217 will go away;

Everything I've read and been told is there will not be a coupe variant of the W223 in the foreseeable future, but time will tell.

As written before here and elsewhere, the current C217 and A217 can not be ordered from new any time soon, this is about what's next (if anything). The new S sedan (W223) will be released soon, and what the article writes (true or not, I don't know) is: "With the arrival in 2021 of the new SL developed by AMG, the S-Class Cabrio could disappear from the range. And the fate of the AMG GT roadster is uncertain after the sporty repositioning of SL. The coupe remains, but the roadster may be gone. Similarly, it seems that the S-Class Coupe will remain and only the cabriolet will disappear. " (referring to the models based on the new W223)

In the last few months of production of the C217/A217 (until August 2020), they even were able to limit the driving assistance functions (for legislation reasons):

So you certrainly don't want to order this final batch, that's for sure!

Here some more details about the Limited Edition of the last few S Coupe's and Cabrio's, and why it is limited (because of stricter regulation in EU):
