I know they stopped building the S Cab back in May , but thought the S coupe was going to soldier on for another year. Glad I ordered and picked up my S Cab for 2020! Shame such handsome cars are going away.

My local MB dealer also says that they can still enter orders for new builds. What gives?

There is a small production window for the MY2021 C217/A217 models, but that is of course still the same car as the MY18-MY20, but with limited self drive functionality (because of stricter regulations, see other thread), so you might avoid and find a good MY20 instead!
A new C217/A217 is not in the planning .....real pity, but let's hope the new 2+2 SL can be a decent replacement.

I've had Mercedes cars on and off, last six-seven years other brands, and now considering a convertible. Coming back to the dealership showrooms it amazes me how little these sales people knows about the cars. Happened to visit two different as I live basically in between, ending up speaking to three different sales guys, and none of them had heard that the coupe/cab were about to expire. They were a bit uncertain about available options, two didn't know about the Magnetite Black option, which I'm interested in. I also asked about the E-class convertible and the knowledge was similar. I don't think these are exceptions by any means either, my experience was very similar last time I bought one, and of course car sales men doesn't have the greatest reputation. Lol. But still, I just imagine if I owned a MB dealership, sitting on a brand at this level, I would make sure my people were properly trained. I wonder if these cars are so easy to sell and the people buying them so much buying the brand that it is pure order taking, or if it's just hard to find good people in the car industry? Low paid?
Sorry for the rant, just really surprised no one seems to know such a fundamental piece of info as when they will stop taking orders for a certain car model. When asked about the removed overtake function and automatic parking, their boss told me that only applied to Europe and not the US cars, which may or not be true?
