Vibration at idle
Hi,
My 2017 S550 Cabriolet with 13,000 miles when stopped in neutral or in drive with brake on vibrates. It's noticeable with top down and hand resting on the windshield pillar. I also see the visor vibrating. Dealer says normal!
Your thoughts?

If it has always had the vibration, that's one thing. But if it just started, that's another. Ask to drive a new one to see if it has it. I went thru this with my '02 CL500 years ago. As it turned out, the new one also had the vibration at idle.

Same here. In fact when I inadvertenly leave the auto shut down on when at idle, I don't even notice the eng isn't running unless my wife tells me or I feel it restart on take off.

I'll bet if you call MBUSA they will tell you it isnt supposed to vibrate either! Do that and then go back to your dealer with the info from MBUSA. Bet they can fix it quickly!!

Presently 19 S560 SEDAN, 2014 XK, SOLD GLE 450e
I've had two CL550'S that vibrated at idle. Both had their motor mounts replaced under warranty which fixed the problem. The 'receipt' from the repair said 'jacked up the engine from underneath and vibration stopped' or words to that effect, which made since.
Currently with a S550 Coupe with no vibration problems. That 525 lb/ft of torque is probaby what causes the mounts to go.

Idle vibration
My 2015 coupe was smooth at 20,000 miles but developed a vibration at idle. Turns out one of the cylinders was leaking (Loss of pressure in one of the eight cylinders). MB fixed the problem and car is smooth again.
