S550 COUPE SPARE OFF A W221
I picked up a donut/spare for a S550 W221 off EBay a few weeks ago and put it in the trunk with a W221 jack kit.
This week I took the S550 Coupe to Discount Tires in Ft Worth and asked them to install it on the front then the rear tires to see if would fit over the calipers. The answer was yes, but the bolts for the original tire were too long by ??? about an inch and a half.
So today I took the spare tire bolts out of my '14 ML and installed the W331 donut on the S550 front using the smaller in length bolts out of the ML. Worked fine. Ordered five similar bolts from a Mercedes dealer out east today.
Just saying .......don't just buy the donut W221 spare and think that is all you have to do. Buy the shorter bolts as well.

Dont know which spare or bolts you had. But always try./ test your spares or tools. It wont do any good if youre in a emergency and your emergency tools dont work. Done that before.

Installed a spare/donut from a W221 on a '14 S550 Coupe using the short bolts off a ML350 Bluetec spare/donut tire.
I mistyped W331 in my thread when it should have been W221 S Class. Ordered a set of five 'spare tire' wheel bolts from https://www.mynewbenzparts.com/ in New England. My Ft Worth, Texas dealer charges three times as much for any like part. They can get Lost asap imho.
Jack/spare donut, lug wrench all work just fine. Darn if I'll wait for a tow truck anytime anywhere. Crossed country to CA from TX and back and had a air leak in the left front tire (cracked rim) of a CL550 near Grants, NM in below 20* F weather at two in the morning a few years back. Helps to have a spare to change out instead of waiting on your behind for someone somewhere to come fix things. Retired since '08 but not broken down where I can't fix a flat.

I'm guessing that is not a full size wheel but a 'donut' spare. Do the lug bolts for the normal wheels work on your AMG spare?
The reason I ask, is I was fat and happy thinking the normal wheel bolts would work on the W221 spare I bought off Ebay and was surprised when Discount Tire told me it would take bolts about a full inch and a half shorter to work on the steel donut wheel. I'm now taking the spare bolts from my ML's donut to install the donut on the S550 Coupe. New shorter bolts coming in the mail.
I should have realized the stamped steel wheel would need shorter bolts.
I should have explained: the ML's spare is a stamped steel wheel. It comes with a package of five short wheel bolts for installation in case you have to put the spare on. Regular ML wheel bolts are too long and won't work on the spare.
