Has anybody done the renntech ecu mod to a 4.7 L S550?
What difference does it make?

2015 S550 Coupe Edition1
I have a 2015 S550 Edition One and I love the car. It is fast out of the box. I struggled with wanting the Renntech module with the cost about $2400 but they recently ran a 15% off special and I bit the bullet and ordered one. WOW....it is really amazing at the power/torque boost. I was blown away. When I first installed the module I got all kinds of error signals on my dash but I put in a call to Renntech and they told me to just switch the ignition on and off about 12-15 times slowly and let the computer learn all the new parameters and it would clear up. I did that and they cleared right off. I was so impressed with the boost in power and torque that I then went to a local muffler speed shop and had that huge muffler system removed and a Borla installed and now the sound is a low pitched growl that fits nicely with the power that machine produces. I wrote a review on Renntech’s website if you want to see it.
I hope this helps....I say go for it.

Same as this response. But I also would want the trans tune so it shifts faster and quicker. I think the trans lags and searches too much. Im sure I want them but dont know of I want to put 5k in this car or get a s63

The RennTech is a game changer. It's a torque monster. Every MB tuner mechanic has said the M278 is the best platform MB has put out, and somehow it's more tune-able than the M157? They're words not mine. I also did the RennTech suspension module which lowers and stiffens the airmatics. On the transmission I have the RennTech trans tune and I have zero complaints, the instructions are simply plant right foot to firewall and hold on, it's crisp and smooth and finds the red line with accuracy. Hey for not having to spend the extra $60-70K my RennTech S550 completely eats up stock S63's, E63's, C63's, Audi RS, even smoked a few tuned-up looking Porsche's, and BMW M's are a joke. The AMG 63 snobs on here will look down their nose, but they'll be looking at my tail lights while they do. :-)

MB’s of all kinds.
I do not think many people realize the power these MB TT V8 engines put out. You can buy a S550 Coupe used for $55,000. Another $2,000 or so for the tune and you have yourself a powerhouse AWD car that goes 0-60 in what? 3.8/3.7 Seconds? Close to 200mph while getting a massage with uncompromising luxury. It really does not get any better.

I have the C216 CL600 with a tune. Fast car. However, these new V8TT are better than my beloved V12. The way the V8TT delivers the power vs the V12 it’s just amazing what Mercedes and Rennetch can do!

aside from the performance. I have always had Porsche and amg s . But I didnt realize how soft this regular s550 suspension was. I keep it on the hard setting, and it still is too spongy and soft just riding around town. Much less how soft it is driving in the mountains where I want it to perform
And theres not any answer. No better improvement for the stock shocks or for any aftermkt shocks
