Hi folks, can anyone provide the instructions on how to remove and replace the control button module on 2019 S560 cabriolets? The backstory is that I spilled coffee all down the module and it sat for days soaking in before I noticed. The dealer replaced the module for about $700 and I retained the old part and spent some time taking it apart and cleaning the coffee out. Now I have a "spare", but I want to know how to proceed in case I spill coffee AGAIN -- which, given the placement of the cup holder in relation to the control panel, is rather LIKELY!
I assume this is a straightforward R&R (with the touchpad module coming off first) but I have learned that MB engineering is not always as simple as it looks! Thanks very much for help!
Ok, I can't answer your question. However, as an AVID coffee drinker, I do appreciate the post and empathize with you. Had a much smaller accident in my BMW, which lead me to installing a small paper towel under the cup holder insert. So if I do, DO it again, it won't be so infuriating. Good luck with the project.
I've got the same color interior...I love it, but coffee seems to be mysteriously drawn to it.
Thank you, Konigstiger! That helps a lot! Popping out the button unit appears simple once you get the touchpad out of the way! My problem is that I have a convertible with a top control AND a wireless charger in that console, and I cannot see how to get access to the screws that hold the touchpad in place. Nothing is as simple as it seems!
