2019 S560 Coupe
The (even longer) wait begins for my new (to me) CPO coupe

On Friday, I sold my 2017 SL550 and purchased a 2019 CPO S560 Coupe. The car is all I have dreamed of and has nearly all the specs I wanted (Obsidian black with black designo interior, black piano flowing lines trim, HUD and AMG Sport styling, but minus the Swarovski headlights I was hoping for), even if it has more miles (34k) than I desired. There was added drama when the dealer showed me they had 800 more miles on the car than it said in the purchase contract and online listing (which he said was from the general manager of the dealership driving it after they got it but before I had inquired about purchasing it).

Anyway, I had been searching for weeks to find the CPO car for me and finally found it in Ohio (but I live in CA). So though I have owned 16 cars in my life, for the first time, I have bought one out of state. My two big vices are cars and guitars (unusual for a woman, I know) but I have wanted an S class for years.

I was nervous enough about buying a car I had never seen in person or driven. But I did the deal and it was supposed to be picked up today by Plycar to ship to me in CA.

Unfortunately, they attempted to pick it up early on Saturday and the dealer wouldn’t release it as the signed docs didn’t arrive to them until today. The dealer told me the truck driver told him they would come back today to get the car.

When 6pm Ohio time today came and went, and the car still had not been picked up, I contacted Plycar. They told me they would now not be getting it until Thursday or Friday.

I gave up my SL (shipped to the same Ohio dealer in trade) on Saturday, but now instead of being car-less for a week, looks like it will be two as Plycar quoted me an approximate seven day delivery time.

Aside from the pure inconvenience of lacking a car for two weeks, I really am just disappointed to have to wait the extra week to get it. I’ve wanted this car for years and so one week is small in the scheme of things but still…disappointed.

I know it is first world champagne problems to be without your new (to me) S class for another week because you gave up your SL too soon. But it feels so close if yet so far.

The dealer sent me a photo of it parked inside awaiting its ride to CA. Loved the photo but just makes me long for it more. I’m still anxious about all the hoops I will have to go through to register it here at my DMV but more than anything, I’m excited. If they made advent calendars for delivery of a car, I would have one.

So here I am counting the days until I can officially call myself an S class owner like the rest of you…and definitely going to check the tracking number of it constantly once Plycar provides it to me after pickup.

Congrats in getting the vehicle you wanted for years. If it wasn't all the things that are going on in the world, I would had recommended taking a flight there and driving it home. Waiting is not fun, hopefully it arrives to you sooner rather than later.

I know it might had sounded crazy as the distance is quite a bit driving from Ohio to California but I am not suggesting non stop driving, (when things were normal back in the days) taking road trips, exploring different cities on the way, creating good memories while enjoying your vehicle is a great experience.

That's a beautiful car. The best with it.

Great move!

After you get it please post a comparison review.

Thank you very much - I would have loved to have driven it home. If it were only a couple of states away, I definitely would have.

Thanks very much. Both cars are great - but they definitely each have their advantages or disadvantages over the other (albeit subjectively). I think that sounds like fun. I probably will do that once I’ve had the S for a couple of weeks.

Shouldn’t be too long now as my car was picked up yesterday. Plycar’s tracking is great as I’ve seen it go from Indiana to Illinois today. Can’t wait to get it as this is definitely a dream car for me.

Two weeks after signing the docs the car finally arrived today. I couldn’t be happier with it. It definitely needs a good cleaning (inside and out) but I am thrilled to finally have it.
