I’m looking at a 2017 S550 Cabriolet, and I can’t find any good info about what size person can fit back there. Most show the seats basically all the way back, but I have to think there’s some usable space for someone 5’5” or so. Is that the case in your experience? Thanks!

Yes, 5'5" or kids would fit comfortably as long as the front seats are not all the way back

Nice thing about my S560 is that when someone is back there and I put the seat back into position, the seat returns to its normal position. As it goes back, if it hits their legs it stops and moves forward a little. I don’t have an issue with with my wife in the back. She said it is roomier than the E400 cab we had.

The S550 fully fits an adult. At 6' I have PLENTY of room in the rear seats (assuming the fronts are not fully back). In our GLS or my E63...if the seat is all the way back the rear seats seem small. The S550 Cab is a BIG car (even bigger when parked next to a Miata).
