1984 Mercedes 280SE

DIESEL ENGINE SWAP!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Friends,
Just bought a 280SE (AT), the car is in perfect condition in terms of body line. The car is currently running on a stock W116 petrol engine. I was actually planning to do a swap on the car with a I6 turbo diesel engine without any mounts modification. The transmission is in perfect condition so I would like to use the same tranny as well. PLEASE SUGGEST ASAP.

1983 300D

There are no I-6 diesels that will fit without major modifications. No i-6 will fit your transmission.

how r u getting on with that swap? and what about 5 cyl from 300td? I got one of them and thinking about put it

engine swaps a re not as simple as changing a light bulb.

Vehicle : MERCEDES BENZ
Fuel : Petrol
Calculation Method : Kms method Observation by re-setting the trip meter every time I refuel to a certain level on the fuel meter.
City Mileage : 20 -22 kmpl with 70% A/C On.
Highway Mileage : 25 kmpl with 50% A/C On.
