Unhappy wheel hubs

hey guys, ive got a wierd issue i was driving the other day and my passenger side rear wheel fell off...yeah.. shocking. apparently i had spacers on my car and well i had no idea about it. and the mechanic is saying that the hubs got worn out by the spacers not setting right. any thoughts on this or suggestions where i can get some used wheel hubs to replace these cause the dealer is saying 600 a piece and it looks like i need to replace 3 of them. and well im not paying that a piece.
Any thoughts guys?

Spacers? Are you running aftermarket wheels? I dislike the idea of spacers on any hub centric set up. Did your lug bolts shear off? You could probably remove them with an easy out and reuse the hub. For the hub to fall off if that is possible the wheel bearing would have to be extremly shot. You would be hearing clunking and all kinds of strange sounds for weeks in advance.

Again spacers are a very bad idea, H&R makes the only spacers I would every use. The extend the center of the hub, the only problem with these is that then the wheels would stick out past the fender and look stupid. Just buy the proper wheels in the first place and avoid spacers.

Just a quick question, but are you driving a 140 chassis? Your profile says 92 420...So I'm a bit confused. If you do need hubs you May be able to find some in bone yards, but it'll be tough. I can look into what I can get them for and let you know.

BTW, I wouldn't even use H&R's spacers..they're far from ideal. Good a fellow's site, Gil Racing. His spacers are the Only spacers I wouldn't hesitate using.
