Rear Exhaust Area Noise on Hard Right Turn

My 1990 300SE makes a strange metal grinding, moaning, noise, like the metal groaning in Titanic (!), when I make a hard right turn such as a 270-degree cloverleaf exit. It's pretty loud. Can I check something like motor mounts, pushing something in the rear undercarriage, etc. to see if something's loose? I have heard it's usually the motor mounts causing sagging in the back that can cause this.

Thanks,
Pete
