Air Pump???

Hello

About a week ago i was told that something in the engine reeked on a 1987 560SEL. I looked at it and there doesnt seem to be anything burning(the car sits alot). I was also told it was really bad when the climate control was on. So i turned on the car and tried to turn on the AC, but nothing happened. I heard a click each time i pressed a different button (and i'm not talking about the sound that the button itself makes), but there was no air flow. Could this be a busted air pump?? If not what else could it be?

Thanks

what did it smell like ( rotten eggs ? ) if so i believe it is in your ac unit. im not a hvac specialist but this is common on ac units that sit. dont know why but have had a few cars do that occasionally. i dont really think its a problem. it should go away quickly and only happen occasioanly , i think its somthing with the evaporator or condensor. as for no air flow id start by checking the blower motor fuse and a/c relay if applicable, then the ac switch, then the blower motor itself. however if it blows for the heat it shouldnt be the blower motor. but either a switch or relay..just a thought, hope it helps...
