Ever wonder what a big MB V8 really sounds like?
I mean without all the mufflers and stuff strangling it to death? Yeah. Well, I have. Or I did. Until I got around to pulling the back half of the exhaust system (from just downstream of the cat back) off my 560.
So it's still not completely open as the pre-cat and the cat are still there, and the recording I made isn't all that great because none of my mics have the frequency response range to pick up anything much below 100Hz very well... which is, of course, where most of the noise the car makes is.
However, for those of you that're curious...

^ That's what a 560SEL sounds like with no muffler or resonators.

S600 Coupe. 560SEC, E55
My 1991 560SEC has very high flow cats, 2 cherry bombs for resonators and a 70 Series Big Block II flowmaster muffler. Sounds like a V-8 is supposed to sound!
