And I must say the background in those pictures is stunning and makes the car that much better looking.

Hi all,
Just joined. Recently picked up a 1985 500SEL with around 96k miles. Located in Austin, Tx and looking forward to combing through it and getting to know these vehicles. I'm 29 now and have been working on cars since i was about 10 or so, but this is my first MB and my first time servicing this era of MB. Taking the time to rabbit hole and get to know the ke-jetronic system and various useful w126 gotchas etc. Getting the FSM for this vehicle now and looking forward to contributing!

My uncle gave me this car! Says he was tired of throwing money at it, I like to think he wanted me to have it. I can't believe it!

It's had a misfire since it was restored, I think I've got that sorted out but now I'm trying to clean the intake and get the gunk out, just haven't taken anything apart yet. Most pressing issue is finding front brake pads or a caliper retrofit. Aside from that it's got a new suspension, exhaust and fuel tank, a bunch of other new parts; fuel pump, plugs and cables, a lot of the wiring, etc. Trying to find it's power! It's coming along though, slowly but surely.
