I am moving to Ft lauderdale in one month from chicago. DO u guys have any recomendations on who to use. the W126 will be transported , the c class will be driven. thanks
they both use soft side, and I think they use two trailer rigs to keep the cost down. great service, ive used both. if money is no object try gold rush or horseless carriage.
I disagree with the person that said dont use a broker. I have the best broker and they have saved me alot of money, time, and lawsuits. I had a very large collection of cars at one time and Linda and Jeff at RIVERCITYAUTOTRANPORT were the best. They are at 530-229-1940.. The advantage is they check out the tranport company and make sure there insurance is up to date they also check feed back to make sure the company has been fare. The financial side is they only charge about 150 bucks and shop the trucks for you so you get the best deal when you need it. JJ
I would recommend America's Finest Vehicle Transport out of MI. They will expidite but it will cost you. They will deliver your car in a single-car enclosed and locked trailer and are pretty flexible on shipping dates, meaning you get it when you want it. However, as I said it will cost you. I would guess that for your distance it would cost you at least a couple grand. If you are interested let me know and I will give you contact info and see what I can do about a discount.
maybe you got lucky, maybe i got unlucky..think about this...

OK...I don't take this personally but perhaps you do have the best broker. (no sarcasm I am being serious) The problem with most (read not all and certainly not yours..) is that all they do is get your car picked up and make sure insurance etc. is up to date. But.. most insurance policies have deductibles. Most minor damage (which is more likely to occur than major damage) like scratches dings etc. FALL UNDER THE DEDUCTIBLE THRESHOLD AND ARE NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE. In other words, just cause your broker verified insurance, the cracked glass and scratched paint very well will not be covered by insurance; they are supposed to be paid for by the carrier itself (NOT THE INSURANCE COMPANY OR THE BROKER!!!!)
Typically (but not always) brokers don't give a damn about how your car is treated, they just want your car picked up asap so they can get paid. This can work if you need to move a car fast, since they work with many carriers. One call to a broker, car is picked up the next day. But who knows who the carrier is...sure they will have insurance, but they won't guarantee a top-load or any special treatment. IMHO verifying insurance is really no big deal and not a huge value add on behalf of the broker. The value add of the broker is the ability to pick up a car fast and any friendly customer service they have. But when something goes wrong, the broker will pass the buck to the carrier. This happened to me twice. Allen auto transport, a broker, connected me with an 'insured' carrier. Two weeks after the scheduled delivery date, my vehicle arrived all dinged up and with 100 miles more on the odometer. The carrier wouldn't pay the $300 to fix it, and neither would the insurance company since it was under their $1000 deductible. I still hound Allen to this day to ask them to pay for it, but they keep passing the buck!
I agree with everything you said. I just guess i have been lucky. Plus I really have a strong relationship with my Broker since I have moved more than 10 cars with him in 2 years. JJ
