'85 300SD Turbo. Worth repairing or scrap it?

Well this is my friends 1985 300SD Turbo Diesel. He had it more than 6 months. Paid $3500 and still owes $2000. We've just got this thing running good. Well last week my friend got in a front end collision with a rear of a mini-van. *nice way to kill a benz eh?*

At first he thought it wasn't bad so he had it towed to an Unauthorized BMW & Mercedes service center. They wanted 4000$ to fix it, that was just the look-over estimate. SO.... I said hey we can probably fix it ourselves. Well We knew the whole cooling system was gone, oil cooler too. So that wasn't the problem, We could repair that. We were worry about the bodywork and how to straighten it out.

So He had his benz towed to my place yesterday and started work today.
Got the bumper off, then We both realize that the bumper assembly dug into the chassis.
Got some pics sorry for the blur; was low on batts; took them tonight.

Left Side Chassis/Bumper Assembly

Right Side Chassis/Bumper Assembly

Right Side again..

Oil cooler, and lower cooling hose.

Fan VS radiator. Radiator wins!

The front.

What you guys think?
