water

Today when I started got in my car a full eight hours after i drove it last, I noticed a lot of water on the drivers side floor. I also noticed water dripping from the exhaust somwhere in between the center and rear mufflers. The car is a 1996 420 sel with qlmost 200,000 miles. I had thought that the water dripped in from the evaporator from he a/c but i hadnt used the ac at all. any thoughts?

Hi
I own a 560 SEL and once had such an experience.
It was due to the condensor of the A/C situated behind the dashboard.
Water came down behind the dashboard on the right side of the car and started to accumulate right behind the right side front seat.
My mechanic told me that on each side ,there is a duct connecting the A/C condensor , collecting the precipitation, and directing it finally somewhere in the middle of the car's under carriage.

It got worse if you use A/c ,but if you go through a humid area ,it occurs quite evidently.

Pls advise what were the weather conditions you drove in
thanks

Smile Water

I live in south Texas. Its humid a lot here. I have noticed the water all summer
long. All summer long we hardly had any rain in San Antonio so I know it wasn't water from rain. How did you fix this problem? Was it expensive?

Hi
So ,my mechanic told me that the water was from a loose tube which is placed behind the dashboard and is for transferring the water from condensor out of the car's room and onto the Automatic transmission under the vehicle.

The whole operation lasted 1 hour and it was very cheap. No parts were changed, just one tube was tightened and the other inspected.Since then i have had no problem.

Pls advise if you sorted out this issue

Many Thanks
