Lets see your modded w126

Come on, I know your out there!

I'd love to see some nice clean examples. Please no over the top chrome bling ebay garbage. A drop, nice set of wheels, and maybe clear turn signals would make any w126 look stunning.

Also, if anyone is interested in trading their 560SEC for a very clean lightly modded 1994 BMW 530i 5-speed I would love to hear from you. I just finished rebuilding the 3.0L v8 engine in this BMW (Yes I said 3.0L V8!). This BMW has 215hp and 214tq and runs like a top and is very clean.

I showed you mine, now you show me yours!

hence why i had the thread sticky'd, so we would not have a bunch of disparate picture threads around.

I can show a partial modification. The '87 560SEC on the lift already has it's engine and tranny removed. On the right side of the lift in the back is the Z06 Corvette motor that will be going into the SEC and on the ground beside the LS6 engine is the 4L60E transmission that will be used. I'm putting a 475HP modified LS6 engine with 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission into the SEC, along with a rack & pinion steering setup. Other than that, not much happening to it.

I just moved into that house so there are too many boxes in the garage, but that will be fixed shortly.

Amazing. You are doing all this by yourself. How did you integrate the electronics and electrics into the GM motor and transmission? The 4L60E is also electronically controlled. With that many horses did you consider a 4L80E? There are so many powerful (400 horses) newer Vortecs with Hydramatic 6 speeds from Cadillac Escalades is it not easier to source them instead?

All by myself, which translates into "slower than molasses in a Wisconsin winter." :-(

I have a very custom computer that will control the automatic transmission, has been modified to take LS6 data, then the specifics (e.g., cam, rockers) for my LS6 were loaded, then the specifics for my differential ratio, etc. etc.

I had a very custom 4L60E built that will handle the horsepower. I didn't want to have to fit the much larger 4L80E tranny. Then there is the driveshaft, cooling system, AC mods, etc. etc.

Seems like I'm having to invent / design EVERYTHING for this swap. But, it's going to be absolutely amazing when I light it off with only headers to drive it to the muffler shop. :-)))

Very Sharp Looking. I was wondering where did you get the wheels from and what size are they. How much did you pay for the wheels and tires.

Wheels are Carlsson (FF/RR - 18x8.5/18x9) 1/6 EVO - DE - I painted them with a single-stage black polyurethane... yes, I painted them myself. $-wise, I paid $200 each. it was the only wheel i felt looked good with the car... without makin' look like a bling'd or too old school W126 .

I'm planning on doing the same to my 88560sec. Any advice would be appreciated. My only concern is passing smog check visual. I live in Ca.

But I doubt anyone will want to take a step down and drive a BMW

But thanks for checking...

Looks like I might be picking up a blue 300SEL

Can anyone give me a list of small exterior mods to update the car a little? I was thinking of color matching the bottom panels, shadowline trim, euro lights, some sort of AMG style mono block wheel, and a lower suspension.

Any tips on where to get springs/shocks, euro lights, and wheels?

By the way, My BMW has come a long way since I made this thread. Now it has a 4L V8 with 282hp and 295tp. It's for sale
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=150162328592

Thanks!

Bundts are what I have. I actually like the look of them a lot, but they don't go with direction I plan to head cosmetically for my car... truthfully, I hope to accomplish a look similar to Nomad's 500sel, albeit slightly different. I'll always keep my bundts (winter wheels at minimum), but one day when I come by some monoblocks I'll cry tears of happiness.
