1987 SEC560 Oil Filter installation

I have a 87 560SEC, and when I opened the oil Filter cannister, there was nothing there, I got a new filter with washers, o rings, etc, but have no idea what order they go in, does anyone have an illustration of the installation of this filter? Any help would be appreciated

I cannot believe this! Whoever sold you the car had to be caned in the butt in public for doing this to a good car. the paper filter element is only $10 or so and it comes complete with 2 copper washers for the oil pan nut and a black rubber ring I think. Very simple to do and no instruction is required. Put one in right away before you drive the car!

I've got the filter, I'm just thinking that there should be a spring in there, right? Most German cannister filters I've done have that. The car belongs to a friend, he had the oil changed while traveling, and I guess the town he was in couldn't get him the filter for a day or 2, so they told him to drive it, and get a filter as soon as possible. Go figure, course he told me that after I'd opened the can and went "huh?" Fortunately he hasn't driven the car very long like that.

Quite a few:)
The oil filter only goes in one way, as does the o ring for it.

The aluminum washer is for b/w the housing and the bolt.

The small copper is for the oil pan. The large copper is for a 560SL.

Were I in your shoes I would sell this car straight away and get another one.....
