I have a 91 300se that needs a motor. It doesn't look like it would be that difficult to do.Is there a write up on this procedure?

If you've got a nice standard wheelbase W126, why not take a good drivetrain from a wrecked 420SEL and make your own 420SE? I had the opportunity to drive some standard wheelbase W126s with the M116/117 engines, and they're really great, handling like the C126 with 4 doors.

Or if you're after some real performance, a GM LS1 engine is 350HP/350 Tq, the LS6 engine (same size) is 405hp/400 tq.

The data I've gleaned shows a Mercedes in-line six is 441 pounds.

The complete (with accessories) LSx V8 engine is 434 pounds. Bare engine is 390 pounds.
