w116 vs w126

Is there anything better with the 450sel w116 compared to the 560sel w126. I like the look of the 450sel, but its older. THough good. I think it had a 4.5 liter v8 and the 560 had a 5.6 liter. Is there any gas differnce between the two.

280SE W116, 500SEL W126
You mean 4.5 litre?

I used to have a 450SEL and absolutely loved it, I really regret selling it now
It was a real gas guzzler but so is my 500SEL W126 so I can't imagine a 560 being more frugal

The W116, of which I've owned three, is an excellent car when it has been cared for
It has a feel of incredible strength and solidity that even the W126 can't match, as good as it is

I prefer the 450SEL W116 over a 500SEL W126 but, not over a 560SEL, the only W116 I would choose over a 560SEL would be a euro spec 450SEL 6.9
Also all my cars are euro's so I can't comment on US spec models
