Becker grad prix radio
Hi,
Battery went dead on my 86' 300SDL and the radio security system has disabled the radio from working. I have the manual on how to remove the radio (so I can get the serial # and beg the dealer to give me the code!) The manual is clear as mud, looks like I need a special tool to remove the faceplate and an different tool to yank the radio. Can someone clarify the facepate removal step? I don't want to break the plastic. Also, is there another way I can get the radio code other than the dealer?

Are you sure you need a radio code? From what I know, the older Beckers had a special reset tool that you would use to reset the radio, the newer ones you just enter a code, no need to remove the radio. I think you will need to go to the dealer, you can try (800) FOR MERC.
