Hello All,

Here in town a local dealer has a 89 560SEL for sale. You can see it at www.robsight.com ......go to there used section and you can find it there. How much is this car truly worth? Any major issues with this year? I have driven the car and all seems well. Things I've noticed are: needs tires balanced, squeaky front right strut. If you look at the pics they dont do the car justice. It's incredible. It's a two owner car and has been serviced regularly.

What would YOU pay for this car?

I dont think that is too bad, looks nice and clean, I would put 17" monoblocs on it and drive it! I just looked at a 86' 420SEL listed here locally gold/tan, with 157K with years of service records and 16" chrome rims off a 2000 E-class, it was a nice clean well cared for car. Asking $4,500. I would pay a lil more for a 560, with a few less miles. Especially from a dealer! In NY state dealers have to warranty it for 30 days!

I'd guess closer to $4500 for the car.
- No pictures of the engine.
- Does the AC work great? (Very expensive to fix - if non-functional run, don't walk away)
- Does the transmission shift smoothly into all forward AND reverse? No delays?
- Any rust anywhere, especially under the forward trunk lid on the body? (run, don't walk away)

Go to MBCoupes.com and look at the buyers guide for an SEC. Most of that applies to an SEL.
