126 Mechanic in West LA

My son is rolling my '87 420 SEL..now with almost 500K miles on the original motor and is having issues. First, it would start on when it wanted to, run fine for a while and then not start..seemed to be tied to wet weather. He would take it to an independent shop and it would start all the time. After 2 weeks, he got the car back. No start. I had him replace the coil and it started, but it has a tendency to stumble on acceleration and on left turns (I'm thinking fuel pump on that). Rather than guess and start sending parts, I would like him to take it to a mechanic familiar with the 126. I think it is a spark issue, but it's time for an expert.

If you know of a good wrench, please give me the name and number.

126 Mechanic Needed

If you can get the car to Orange County, I would highly recommend Junior at Benzwerks in Costa Mesa (949) 515-7530. Junior is a huge 126 fan (helps a lot!), his shop rate (approx $85/hr) is lower than what you'll find in LA, and he's just really easy to work with.

Let us know how it turns out...
