Rusty Fuel Tank??

has anyone ever had a rusty fuel tank problem??
i have a low idle miss fire. the other day it randomly fixed itself??????? 50 miles later it came back!!

could this be a rust in the fuel tank problem?? maybe around the pick up in the tank??

any ideas?

I had a 1986 560 SEL (sold this year) and if you look at my posted photos taken from under the car you can see a perfectly rust free fuel tank. I tried to load it up with fuel in the winter to prevent condensation in the tank.

is not the tank. may the wire .

Take a plier, let engine running, pull one wire off and hire if the engine gets Worse put it back.try next wire ,if the engine sound the same.probleme found.

Be careful high voltage

don`t worry you don`t die on it ,if you Touch it

i have checked the ignition side and everything is working, i think its the fueling. i have new injectors and fuel filter it might be the fuel distridutor but i dont know what to do with that???

its really strange sometimes it clears up but then 30miles later comes back, thats why i thought it might be a blockage... and their was rust and condensation on the inside of the fuel cap!!

when the misfire happens, at idle, the oil pressuer flutters at 2, when the problem fixes itself the pressure is constantly at 3 at idle...??? what should it be at, at idle???

thanks people

I think I'd try the fuel filter (by the pump) first then maybe the pump and or the relay in the fuse box.
