Where is the turn signal flasher???

Where is the turn signal flasher???
I recently purchased a blue 1982 300sd, which, co-incidentally, I have named Old Blue. It seems to run pretty strong and I am just starting to get to know it. I am having a problem with the turn signals/hazard lights. The lights themselves DO work when I turn on the lights. However, they do not flash when I attempt to signal or turn on the hazard light switch. I have taken the face plates out of the center console where it is supposed to be as well as taken out the gauge cluster. I can't seem to locate it and am hesitant to keep pulling the car apart until I do. partly, beacuase I don't know how to. So, does anyone know where the flasher is located???

It is locted in the center bulkhead, left of the master cylinder and brake booster. It looks as though it might be attached to the firewall. It is noted as a N10 relay, combination turn/hazard signal, heated rear window, wiper motor.
