Ok Mercedes lovers… It is good to see you guys are still out there. I have a good question for you... It has been a while and I have received a lot of good advice from you so here it is….
I have a nice 1988 300SE. I recently purchased some BBS 16” Rims for this car without thinking. This car comes with 15” rims. I would like to know if I could place these rims on the car and if so what do I have to do with the tire size? I am running the standard 15” rim with Michelin Harmony 205/65/15. Any suggestions?
The Wheel is below. I will paint the Black the regular Mercedes Gray.
What do you think?

Looks very nice and classical BBS, nice found!
I would recommend 215/50/16 in to the front and 235/45/16 rear. Wheel diameter shouldnt affect too much into speedometer.
Also 50 and 45 series tyres arent too bumpy on the road.

They key will be the offset of the rims. It should be stamped ET followed by a number such as ET23. If they are ET23 or lower you should have no problem mounting them. If its higher you may need spacers.
.
I have the same wheels as yours. Personally I would keep them black as they don't show the brake dust and these rims are a bit of a ***** to clean with all those "spoke" holes. I also find the black rims give the car a bit of a bad boy attitude to the car.
As for tires going to 60 aspect ratios will keep the speedo pretty accurate. If got 215\60 on my car.
Nice catch btw. How much did you pay?
