Hello everyone! I have been a W126 fan for many, many years and am finally in the position to add one to my fleet. I am mechanically inclined (degreed mechanical engineer with 11 years automotive industry experience) and do a fair amount of mechanical & cosmetic work on cars at home. In short, I am not afraid to buy a car that needs a little work.

Ideally I want a 500/560 SEL, but I am nervous about problems with the hydro-pneumatic suspension. Is there a good reference out there that will explain how these work and how to troubleshoot problems on them?

Also, who publishes the most comprehensive service manual for the W126? Any info is appreciated!
