87 560sel No power 2 fuel pumps
I have no 12v to the fuel pump wires pumps were bad they ran when jumped but did not pump fuel . new pumps on the way ! test light hooked up now ! >replaced fuel pump realy > nothing ! . verified continuity in wires to pumps from relay base and >ok
power is at the relay plug base and the key switches on additional power ! the relay clicks with ign key ! > took cover off of old relay and worked the contacts and still no power ! jump the solder traces on the old boad and can light the test lite but the relay smokes ! if i just jump 87 to 30 in the base of relay plug then the light (pumps) run no problem and the car will start and run fine if the pumps run !
What am im missing ? what other item will keep the relay from sending power back to the pumps ? It does not even power up for the 1 second with Ign on ! there has to be another sensor or component ( interlock?) that controls or agrees with the fuel pump relay ??? help please tony 845 626 3412
