My "new" W126 Project
Hello, my name is Derrek and I work at Victoria Star Motors Mercedes Benz in Kitchener, Ontario and on Friday I purchased my first 126, a 1989 560SEL. I bought it for $700 and the seller included a "parts" car that has the couple of parts I need to fix mine. He originally wanted $1600 for the car but I was able to talk him down to $700 minus the stereo. All the electronics work in the car, all of the wood is in perfect condition. The body has 3 or 4 small rust spots that need to be fixed, but I'll adress that when I go to paint it in the spring. The tranny was replaced 4,000km ago with reciepts. The engine has 150,000km on it with reciepts from when it was rebuilt. The car itself has 442,000km on it. The suspension pump is gone, but there is a good one on the parts car. I also have Euro lights that need to go on. I have the stock coloured hood in my garage, I just need to change the hood hinges because they are bent. Sorry for the blurry interior pics, my camera sucks at low light photos. I would really like to nurse this car into the cool Benz it has the potential to be.

Project update:
I got the car up on the hoist about a week ago to check the overall condition of the car, and I have to report it's looking like a really easy start to a project. There is little to no surface rust underneath of the car, but the are a couple small holes in the body support rails I need to fix. The brake and fuel lines are in mint condition. The passenger side front fender is toast, I cant even repair it it's so bad. I removed all of the other body moulding pieces to inspect for rust and found a couple little bubbles here and there, nothing too major. It might need all new pads and rotors, we'll have to see when I get the starter in and take it for a drive. The front end is as tight as it was new, 0 movement/noises. I inspected the diff and it looked OK, no visible chunks of metal in the oil. Also put the Euro's in and I have to say it looks 100% better, I cant wait till I get my clear corners in.

I'm also going to be test fitting a set of 18" w211 E63 rims on it to see how they look.
