Question about wheel offset and spacers (after searching the forum)
Hi
I've just bought a 1986 W126 300SE from Germany.
One main niggle of mine is that it came with steel wheels and nasty plastic hubcaps from a later model German-taxi-spec C class, so I'm looking for 15" alloys to replace them (16" can also be considered).
Searching the forum I've found that maximum recommended offset for the rims is ET25, otherwise the wheels rub on the inside of the wheel arch.
It's hard to find 15" Merc alloys with offset<25, but there are plenty on the market from later models with offset 37 or so, which would mean if I use spacers I should be OK.
But I also found here posts which say spacers can't be fitted on the front hubs of the W126.
I've found this set of spacers on the German Ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...=STRK:MEWAX:IT
Can anyone have a look and let me know if these spacers can be used as intended? (I assume the 10mm are for the front, and the 30mm for the back. Each pair is a different design)
Thanks,
Jeremy
