Question 1990 SEL 560

Hi guys!
I found 90 560SEL SDN. It has 231k on the clock. I drove it. Runs like a champ! Everything but the sunroof works. It has the orgn paint, dash (no cracks) chrome rims. The driver seat is a little worn and the AC needs to be charged. I noticed a tapping from the motor but while driving or when it warmed up it wasnt as loud but passed smog. The trans shifted fine. While in park it did jerk into drive and reverse. The guy wants $1700.

Should I have checked for anything else and are thier any common problems with this car? I want to use it as a daily driver. Is this a good or bad idea?

Please advise..

These cars are bullet proof but 231K for a daily driver is a lot of miles even for a 126

It changes all the time
It's interesting that we are all from the Bay Area. I live in Fairfield. We did not say what the asking price for that car is. I owned a 560 back when they were fairly new, and they are nice cars. Unless you may be hauling a lot of passengers in the back seat or heavy things in the trunk, I'd opt for a 420.They are basically the same car.

I had a 1991 560SEL that I sold in 2005 with 16,000 miles on it. I can still kick myself in the butt for selling it since I feel that it was the best MB that I have owned and I have owned MB's continuously since 1968.
