Question Delete Plate for SLS 1986 W126 Coupe

After reading numerous threads re: SLS deletion, I haven't found one that shows or explains how to delete the SLS pump entirely.
My car is a 1986 560SEC w/ 117miles.

Few questions I have:

* does the block plate need to have a specific thickness of aluminum - if I decide to make one?
* Does anyone have the MBZ part number of this block plate?
* Does the shock location need any kind of extra hardware to fit regular shocks
* Who among you have a replacement belt number to accommodate for the pump delete? Maybe the 420 SEL belt may work?

I appreciate all your help.

From what I have seen, the block off plate for any m117 will be on any m117 car without an sls pump. It is just four bolts. They can be had very commonly at junkyards for very cheap. You will not need any special hardware to put on normal shocks. You might want to take off some of the sls bubble things and most of the lines. The hydraulic fluid is very corrosive to paint, so don't get it on your paint. I can't remember the part number for the plate. If you make your own it is not a load bearing part so thickness just needs to be enough to hold a seal. Sorry, I don't know more specifics, hope I helped a bit.

Wonderful input-Thank you! I just ordered bilstein HD's all around and bought 420 SEL rear springs from the junkyard to replace the SLS version springs.
