1987 300 SDL - NO Tach! Please Help - Plus Pictures!
I pulled my 300SDL out of storage and brought it up on maintenance:
Oil change
Fuel filters
Air filter
Power steering flush and filter
Trans service
Brake flush with ATE super blue
Coolant flush
Belt
Belt tensioner
New tires
Wheels refinished
Full detail - Menzerna, Klasse AIO, P21s hand wax, Klasse sealant
Now - my tach is not working and my AC is out as well. I have researched and found that the compressor works as a function of tach output therefore that would go down if there is no tach signal.
My question is - what could make the tach signal go out? I have already tried a new overload relay with no success. What is the next step?

Sorry I can't help but your car looks amazing. How many miles? the Engine bay looks extremely clean. My dad has an '82 280SE that color combo.

take cluster out using proper tools as not to destroy the plastic lens, check the connector to see if they are tightly attached, this is usually the culprit, spray with contact cleaner making sure the terminals are clean and dry before reinstalling. you might also wanna check the terminals for power.
