I am currently in the market for a 300SE in the SOCAL area I am looking for a nice one it will be my daily driver and my trusty 85 300SD is staying back home in Texas , I gave up looking for a clean super clean 300SD in SOCAL so lets try a gasser if i must .

also what do you guys think of this car as an option performing duties as a daily driver, and what can I expect the pros and cons

thank you….

I'm wondering the same, exact thing, except I'm in Minnesota. Today I'm going to look at this: http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hn...081750810.html

I intend to buy it, and I know I'll need snow tires.

To help answer your question, my independent foreign car mechanic says they're pretty dependable if looked after, but you must avoid ethanol-blended fuel.

I love my 1989 300se! The m103 is probably the most solid motor MB had in the era. My 300 (Betty White) has had a hard life. With a broken OD at 150k 4 years and 2 owners ago there is no telling where she stands in miles. Yet she pushes that fat *** around everyday. I love the car!

Pros; easy fixes, cheap fixes, mpgs on a good motor are high for the age, short wheel base more sporty, great daily driver, very fast on the highway

Cons; motor has or will leak(prior to a gasket job), under powered(the low end is pretty lack luster and slow to the top), Ive never seen them in any color other than white, and most Ive come across are beat up by people who didn't appreciate them

Id say go for it! Just remember there is ZERO performance aftermarket for the w126. Just about everything is a custom job.

Ryan
