How much extra was the AMG package on the 560 SEC? And was the Euro car more expensive because of the higher rated horsepower and a little more features???

Depends on which AMG package you're talking about. Just spoilers wouldn't have been much more than $5K. Painted chrome, spoilers, wheels probably $12K or so. I do know the full 560SEC with 6.0 DOHC motor and car with full AMG dressings was $143,000 in '86. The motor alone was $40K. As far as the Euro being more expensive because it has more horsepower- highly doubtful since that's how the original engine was built and designed. 560's existed in Europe since 1985. Mercedes had to invest more money to "dumb down" the U.S model with intricate cat converter/exhaust manifold system, lower compression and bigger bumpers and the U.S. version wasn't released until 1986. No doubt though, the Euro is more desirable, especially in the U.S. for the power and cleaner look.
