your opinion please
I am buying this week, a 1987 Mercedes 560 sel. I won a bid on Ebay in the last 10 seconds literally. I've had two previous benz's before, but never a 560 sel. I was hoping I could get some opinions/observations from 560 owners on what to look for, what I should be carefull of etc. The car has a history that can shows it had 2 owners, and total of 160,000 original miles. It's got every option known to man, needs no work, has no rust, dents or dings, and apparently is in good shape. I was told tune-ups for these cars run about 700 bucks, and anytype of engine maintenance is a small fortune. I paid $3,500 for the car, and assuming it is in the type of shape that was advertised, did I get a good deal? I previously had a 76 450 sl, and a 300 tubo diesel.
I'm told the secl 560 is a tank and the engines go a long way if you do your regular maintenace. ok, comment? I appreciate any opinios out there. thanks

If you find a good indy it won’t cost you that much for a tune up. DO NOT TAKE IT TO A DEALER! Try to do what you can yourself, like oil changes, spark plugs, fuel filters, etc. $3500 is a steal. The trick to keeping these excellent cars running well is routine maintenance. Well done and good luck.
