1991 350 SDL Injection Pump
Love this 350 SDL. I drive it intermittently. Have always serviced it with Mercedes. Now has 111000 miles Recently injector fuel lines on top were replaced for a tiny bubble like leak at injector 6 site, by MB dealer in Gainesville. Drove it south 5 hours to Palm Beach County. Garaged it. 3 months later found a puddle of diesel fuel on the floor. MB Dealer in Delray checked it, and I was informed this weekend , that it needs a new injection pump. Part number 603 070 32 01 80.
However this part they tell me, is no longer available and cannot be supplied.
I am confused. I need help. What are my choices. I find it hard to believe that the injection pump has failed. I have meticulously changed the diesel filers (2) and the oil in the car every 5-7000 miles. The car has been running very smoothly, and even with the leak I drove it to the MB Dealership in Delray.

Check the end cap on the fuel thermostat. It has an oring seal that leaks fuel about every 4-5 years. Look near the motor mount on the driver's side for fuel leaking.
