Euro Vs. US Specs
What seperates the two apart? I know for one that the EPA in Europe is less than that of the US and thus the C.C. isn't as restrictive. What else?

Not sure about it, but I heard that in Europe, you could get hand crank windows, cloth seats, or just the basic. Here in US, you get everything in power and leather or cloth.

500E -92 and 560SEL -90
There was a bigger model program to choose from in Europe. Also the possibility to get the cars not so well equipped to a lower price.
The 560 cars though did have most options as standard also in Europe. The 280 SE and 300SE though could be had in a much more basic trim.
One thing that differs also is the engines....
More power in the Euros. The 560 had 279 or 300hp (cat/non-cat) fx.

Indeed all the MBs imported into the US by Mercedes-Benz are fully loaded, or much more loaded than the average one sold in the rest of the world. My uncle in Australia owns a 1997 S600 with cloth seats and I've seen several like that on eBay - grey market cars.
Also, of all the SLs sold brand new today, none costs less than $96,000 (sticker) due to the mandatory minimum equipment level that MB puts on everyone destined for the US market.
