420SEL sunroof liner removal/fix
The fabric liner on the inside of my '89 420sel has come loose on the drivers side. It prevents the sunroof from sliding back, and if I "pop" the back of the sunroof's rear, the drivers side headliner falls down (sags).
I can see a slot that the headliner looks like it should be in, but I cannot bow the liner enough to put it in.
Besides not being able to open the sunroof, when in the closed position the left rear edge of the sunroof doesn't seat completely. Luckily, due to superior engineering, it doesn't leak into the car when it rains.
Does anyone know how to pull the headliner off the sunroof when you can't retract it? Or any other suggestions on how to put the liner back in it's track?

You have to slide the sunroof back about 3/4 of the way to remove the headliner. It is held in place by four plastic clips at the front. Pull down on the front of the headliner the whole width, and you will hear the four clips pop out. Then pull the headliner forward and up out the roof.

Yes, I knew you were having problems getting the sunroof to move. The problem is hard to visualise, so perhaps if you send me a picture, I can provide more help.
