Anyone knows how the Straman SEC were built and can document it?

Anyone knows how the Straman SEC were built and can document it?

Anyone have access to old Mercedes sales info showing dealers selling 560 SEC Straman convertibles?

I have I just imported a 1987 560 SEC Cabriolet built by R. Straman Company in California to Norway from Long Beach, Ca.

The Norwegian equivalent to DMV will not approve the car from the following reason:
“You need to document the originality of the cabriolet, or present documentation that the vehicle has been a cabriolet before the first registration in the United States. Based on the manufacturer's (MB) data, the vehicle should be a coupe”.
If I can prove how the car was built I might stand a chance of getting the approval needed.

Appreciate all help I can get.

Now that I think about it some more, you're correct. MB never built a cabriolet for the W126 so MB won't have any information on it. I guess the OP have to try to contact R. Straman. I don't know if they're still in business or not.
