unknown warning light and switch

ok mind my ignorance, but I did not get a manual with the car. 300se. the warning light is the one next to the emergency brake light, it is amber/yellow, it is a circle with some dashed lines on opposite sides (I'm thinking brakes but just want to know for sure). and while i'm on the dash, what is the purpose of the exh temp light - just to let you know when it's hot?

the other query is the switch/dial located between the electric window switches - the odd symbol with a roller function??

thanx

The yellow light is for front brake pad wear. When the pads wear down, this light comes on to let you know it's time for new pads.

The dial next to the window switches is probably the front/rear fader for the speakers.

thanx for the reply.

pads have plenty, maybe my rotors are getting down?! only seems to happen in conjunction with the emergency brake?

ummm on the dial, the head unit has controls for the fade and balance so......not sure

a bit OT but it's been bugging me.

How's the manual for the car? Is it worth it?
