This is a restoration project. Putting everything back together and I wanted to swap out the kick down solenoid on the transmission. Ordered a new one from Mercedes and it doesn't match the existing one. If you look at the picture, the seal ring on the new one protrudes from the body where the old one is flat. In addition, the distance from the bottom of that ring to the bottom of the part is thicker on the new one so I don't think the holes will line up. I checked online and this appears to be the correct part number for the car - A0003042790
I don't know if the protruding ring will be a problem if I can get the hole to line up - was thinking I might need to shave down the plastic housing so it matches the original. Any thoughts or anyone done this before and run into the same issue?
