Hello everyone,
I need help to understand where to start looking when it comes to check instrument lights on my car. All of a sudden it went black. No fuses in the fusebox is blown.
My car is a 1988 560 sec Euro spec. LH drive.

Mattias

Follow up, i got a tip and found pretty easy a video on YT when writing "how to.." and my matter. Cluster is removed and bulbs are out and about to be changed. Also a couple of other issues was found so it was time to refresh that part of the car for sure.

.... just turn the light rheostat knob and lights should comeback. The rheostat with age becomes erratic, and occasionally the lights will flicker as a warning of impending failure. I have bypassed the rheostat unit by joining the wires.Originally Posted by Mattias57

Thx for the tip, when I worked on this matter I found that the reostat failed to work just before 100% and it went black and then came back full. I found at YT one guy who sandpaper the connector and did some chemical cleaning to rid this matter. So I did the same and now its working.
