NEED HELP replacing headlamp on 500 SEL
I know this is such a newbie question, but I am a newbie. I purchased a 1984 500 SEL this weekend and the right headlight is out. I cannot figure out how to remove it. I certainly do not want to damage the plastic frame, so I thought I would seek help. ANYONE??????

You have to remove those large plastic screws from the back (inside the hood) to get the headlamp frame (plastic) off first. Then you have to use a small screw driver to get the screws off from the front, to remove the frame (metal) that holds the sealed beam headlamp in place. So go ahead, remove the screws to the plastic frame first. They are large, round plastic retainers you can unscrew by hand. If you still can't figure it out let me know and I'll take some pics from my car to show you how to do it more clearly.
