Try this link.....http://www.benzworld.org/forums/foru...hock+absorbers
I have just done mine and it was simple enough...Do'nt forget the special oil (hydraulic fluid) from MB and (some) others.

Thanks guys, new accumulators on the way. The ride in my car will about bounce you to the ceiling in the rear! I have moved the lever on the valve and it will go up and down.

please let me know how's the ride after you install the accumulators. I've just ordered mine and can't wait to put them on. Mine is not bouncy but harsh and stiff ride.

Accumulator replacement

I just replaced the accumulators on my 1989 560SEC this afternoon.
I also "flushed" the hydraulic fluid.
First I opened the bleeder on the leveling switch. This allow the pressure to bleed off. I used a piece of clear plastic hose on the bleeder to direct the fluid to my oil changing pan.
I disconnected the return tube from the front hydraulic fluid reservoir and used another clear plactic tude to route this fluid to another container.
Then I started the car and watched as the fuild drained out of the reservoir. I added new fluid until I saw clear fluid draining out the back and from the return tube. This step isn't necessary, if you don't want to flush the fluid.
At the aacumulators there are two lines. Disconnect both and remove the three nuts holding the accumulator in place.
Take the accumulator to a bench vise, and remove the fitting in the end of the accumulator. Put this fitting in the new accumulator, and now you're ready for re installation.
Put the new accumulator in place and just start the three nuts. This allows the accumulator to move a little and this will assist in starting the small fitting that's on the hard line. Once its started, tighten the three nuts, install the larger fitting and tighten both fittings.
That completes one side, and the second side will go quicker, cause of your recent experience. Took me about 4 hours start to finish. I used about two liters of fluid. Good Luck.

Accumulator change on 560

Besides the accumulators , there is also a larger rubber shock mount that replaces the ones currently on the shock/hydraulic rams. It took that clunk sound that you can get when you go over a speed bump from my car. This was on the SEC 126's that this worked.
