putting in 5-speed transmission
can i slap in a 5speed automatic transmission in a euro 1987 560sel.. and if yes.. , which vehicle / model of transmission would that be..?? any sugesstion , ideas and comments.. all welcome..

slap..No... The 722.5's have different configs on the bell housing, but either moding each side or an adapter plate will take care of that. Also, the 722.5 has some electronic controls, namely for the 5th gear, but I do beleive a swith can be set up to control it. Lastly, the 5th gear clutch pack is known to be a touch on the fragile side so I would only use it on the highway while crusing etc.. I'm planning on doing this switch as well as putting in a 3.07 R&P from a 450SE...
