Not sure if these are the same ones you are referring to or not, they came off a 2002 S-55, just put them on my 97 S320.

They are staggered, 18X8.5 in front, 245/45's, and 9.5's out back, 275/40's.

Thanks Omey, they really made the car look better compared to the "before" picture below. I Like what you have done to yours as well!

cjp69 YOUR RIDE IS LOOKING SO GOOD

cjp69 YOUR RIDE IS LOOKING SO GOOD WITH THE NEW RIMS. DID YOU LOWER THE CAR? MAYBE ITS THE DISTANCE OR THE SLANTED DRIVE WHERE YOU TOOK THE PICTURE? BUT IT LOOKS GREAT ON 18s, ESPECIALLY THE WIDER STAGGERED LOOK
WAITING FOR MY RIMS TO COME, LESS THAN 2 WEEKS NOW. IVE SOLD THE OTHER RIMS I PUT ON MY CAR SO I COULD GET THE NEW ONES. THAT MEANT THAT I HAVE PUT THE ORIGINAL STOCK 16s BACK ON AND I FEEL LIKE THE CAR LOOKS STUPID BECAUSE IVE GOT A BIG TWIN CHROME REMUS ROMOLUS EXHAUST ON THE CAR I NEED MY BIG WHEELS

CJP69 your S-Class looks great. I think that the alloys you have are AMG type I.

I have done quite a bit of asking about and had a look at lots of alloys. I have decided to look for the type II amg alloys or non-AMG replica type II as I pictured on my first question.

I have found out that the S-Class w140/v140 will take at the front; 245/45/yr18 on 8.5 and on the rear 275/40/yr18 on 9.5. or 255/45/18 on 8.5 all round.

Either way, my hunt continues for some affordable type II's and I thank you guys for your replies....even if there was a bit of squabling in the middle.
I just have to find a set now.

Cheers, Milky

Samm,

Thanks for the compliment, I didn't lower it, it is the slanted driveway a little, plus the smaller sidewall that makes it look lower. The rears look real fat with the extra inch on the rim and the 275/40's.

Thanks Milky. I think the 255's will fit, but the 245's are actually the "right" size as far as the tire and rim being as close as possible to the same size as the original 16's, which means your speedo should be dead on. The 275/40's work out to the exact same as well, whereas the 255/45's are slighly different than stock, which may affect your speedo slightly. The 275/40's look great on the 9.5 rims, and a couple of tire shops I talked to said the 245's were too small for the 9.5's. My tires are Continental extreme sports I think, from discounttires, about $775 for the 4 of them I think.

I am running 245/45/18's up front and 265/35/18's in rear but in retrospect 35's are too thin and change gearing too much so speedo is of sligthly at higher speeds, but car pulls great. its a trade off.

Handling is slightly firmer than before but it still has that S-Class glide to it. I'm just so pleased with the alloys. I looked around for a set of type II AMG alloys but there as rare as chickens teeth so after seeing other pictures of the type I's on the S-Class I decided on them. Also the II's only came in 255 and I wanted the wider 275 at the back.
