Group Buy: What do you think?

I was thinking that we should organize a group buy for certain products that all of us would like to mod for our vehicles. I was trying to think of what that would be since there are so many things, but I just came up with a few things, such as springs, shocks, shift knobs, etc,. Anyone else have some ideas?

springs yall could probably arrange something. i already tried to arrange HID one a while back. group buys definately work but the problem is there are so few regular posters on this forum, getting all 5-6 of us to be interesting in the same thing will rarely happen

Just make sure it's only from a board sponsor (on this board anyway), otherwise you'll probably get banned.

Yeah, there are not that many regulars on this forum, I dont think the suppliers would offer a discount for 3-4 units, it's hardly a crowd, further more a group.....

Omey, u probably did a research on this already......what is required to run xenons on our Sel's?

Yeah, I figuer I would have to approach a moderator or something about it, and I realize about ther being a limited number of people who actually post on this particular board, but I do believe that if at least 4-5 people were interested in a particular item, and we said that were from this forum that is 'x-amount' of people strong, it might have some swaying power.

I don't know, just thought it would be a good idea. Personally I like the ideas of Euro headlights, as well as HID kit, maybe even a plug and play one that would work with our existing harness in the car. I know where I live, there is a place that sells them and believe they would offer a discount as well. Check out some of these sites:

xenonfactory.com
xenondepot.com

Now mind you, I heard in the US that they are putting a ban on aftermarket HID kits, and that's why company's like Catz are no longer distributing in the US, but I could be wrong. I'm going to try and find out some more details.

im have yet to modify my stock US headlights (to get rid of those ugly yellow fogs). Once I do that I will proabably just get xenon bulbs for the time being until i get the Real HID kit. even with xenon bulbs the lights look great, but you gotta run headlights and fogs together to get the full effect (which i always do anyways).

Well for a potential group buy, what about the illuminated door sills?

Personally, I sort of like them and was thinking about it since it seems like a classy a sutle touch. I beleive that the newer MB's now come standard with them. Another thing I was thinking about was the side view mirrors with the led indicator mounted on it. The only problem with those is that all w140' pre 94 supposidly won't be able to mount them because the shape of the mirrors are different

well if I can find a company that would be willing to provide group discounts to us and present this information to a moderator/administrator of the site, what I have come up with so far is:

1. Illuminated Door Sills
2. Euro-Spec Headlights and/or corners
3. Wooden gear shifter
4. Springs
5. Side view mirrors with LED lights

Another ? though. Why would I get banned if I were to find a company willing to give us a group discount on an item and they were not a sponsor of this board? To me that doesn't make much sense!? It might just be me, but if a sponsor does not sell an item that I'm looking for why would it cause a dispute !?

Of the top names/suggestions only but does not necessarily include all

1) Harris has done this in the past
2) Check with Steve
3) Several, Harris, Steve, etc
4) Evosport, Harris
5) OEM and some have posted how to convert.

Starting one without the approval of this board and/or involving a sponsor from the start is not a good idea. Courtesy/prudence here would be to check with the board and/or sponsors first before proceeding.
